You Do Not Have to Carry Grief Alone

Living Careers offers professionally facilitated therapy groups where adults can experience consistency, connection, and compassionate grief support.

An LGBTQ+-affirming grief therapy group

Seeking a grief group?  Currently Living Careers is forming a grief group for adults who identify as LGBTQ+ and are grieving a significant loss within the past year. Grief is meant to be witnessed and in community.

This group provides room for grief as it is actually experienced: personal, layered, relational, and shaped by community and lived experience. You will not be asked to minimize your loss, explain being LGBTQ+, or follow a prescribed timeline.

Who It Supports

This group may be appropriate for:

LGBTQ+ Adults

Adults who identify as LGBTQ+ and are grieving a significant loss.

People Seeking Consistency

Participants who want to meet with the same group members over time rather than attend a drop-in group.

People Open to the Matching Process

Prospective participants who are willing to have a brief conversation with Danielle to determine whether the group is an appropriate fit.

A Closed and Carefully Matched Group

Once the group begins, new participants are not added. This supports privacy, trust, continuity, and connection.

Groups require at least four participants, with approximately eight considered ideal and ten as the maximum.

Grief groups are generally 75 minutes unless otherwise confirmed.

The group schedule, format, start date, number of meetings, and participation details will be shared before anyone commits to joining.

Joining a Group

Begin by expressing interest

Step 1: Complete the interest form

Provide your name, contact information, general availability, and the group you are interested in. You will not be asked to submit a detailed mental-health history through this form.

Step 2: Talk with Danielle

You will be contacted to schedule a 1-hour initial consultation meeting via Zoom. This will involve sharing about your loss and answering personal questions. This is also when you will have any of your questions about the group answered.

Step 3: Determine whether the group fits

Danielle will consider your needs, expectations, availability, and the makeup of the group.

Step 4: Receive the next step

If the group is an appropriate fit and space is available, you will receive participation and scheduling information.

If the group is full or not the right match, Danielle may discuss another option or invite you to join a waiting list.

Request to Join a Loss Group

A few sentences are enough. Please do not include detailed medical information or anything you would prefer to discuss privately with Danielle.
For example, you might be seeking connection, shared understanding, a place to process your grief, or support in feeling less alone.

By submitting this form, I:

  • consent to receive messages from Living Careers.

  • understand that submitting this form does not guarantee placement in a group.

  • understand that submitting this form does not establish a therapist-client relationship.

  • understand that Danielle may contact me to discuss possible next steps.

  • understand that this form is not monitored for urgent or emergency needs.
